What makes whiskey whiskey is its aging process. Whether it's Whiskey, Whisky, Bourbon or Scotch, most get their distinctive colors, odors, and tastes from the degree of char inside of the barrel. When a whiskey barrel is brand new, the first thing they do is burn it! Well, only on the inside. The interiors are flame toasted, with the temperature and duration being the determining factors on what the tones and flavors will become.
As we produce our Cobbles, Flooring, and miscellaneous Whiskey Wood projects, we usually get covered in all this charing. To prevent this, the char is scraped off and saved. Saved so we may present you with our newest product!
Hand processed, each individual piece of flooring is treated with a special technique that works the "char dust" deep into the grain. Adding a whole new style and atmosphere, this flooring is available in two varieties. Our dry rub concentrates specifically on the grain and figures of the wood, emphasizing it's natural aspects, while our wet rub adds a darker, more aged patina look.
You may customize your orders for no additional fee. Choose between a dry rub, wet rub, or a mix of both. We can even lighten or darken the wet rub to better suit your style.
