Long a standard in Yankee flooring, yellow birch is a moderately dense hardwood with a rich range of color from creamy yellow sapwood to reddish-brown heartwood. Sunken yellow birch has a striking curling grain. These color and graining variations create a dramatic, yet organic, aesthetic.

Radiant heat:

Yellow birch is suitable for use over radiant heat systems as follows:
3” width: any cut
4” width: quarter/rift sawn only
Wider than 4”: not suitable

* wood is a product of nature, and as such, no two pieces are alike to start with, while the same wood growing in different locales can vary greatly even though it is the exact same species. 
* freshly milled wood will differ in color from older stocks as the older stocks will have aged and undergone color change. The photos may have been taken from freshly milled stock or slightly older batches, which would affect the color.

When you place an order you are accepting the limitations inherent to the wood.
